Leg raises
Execution
- Lie on the ground
- Put your hands next to your body.
- Raise your legs up until they are at a 90-degree angle with your upper body.
- Lower both legs slowly back to hover just above the ground.
- Repeat the movement by moving your legs back up again.
Points of attention
- Keep your lower back flush with the ground. When you are moving your feet down and your lower back loses contact with the ground you go back up instead of lowering further down.
- Keep your neck relaxed.
Variations
PROGRESSION
Add a reverse crunch when you bring your legs up.
REGRESSION
- Put your hands underneath your glutes.
- Bend your knees.
- Raise your legs not all the way to 90 degrees and don’t bring them down to hover just above the ground.
VARIATION: SINGLE LEG LIFTS
Instead of raising both legs at the same time, alternate your left and right leg.
VARIATION: LEG LIFTS WITH REVERSE CRUNCH
When your legs are in the air add a reverse crunch by engaging your lower abdominals and lifting your hips slightly off the ground.
